Forum Bioinformatics 08
The Forum Bioinformatics 2008 was part of the Fraunhofer Life Science Symposium “Ischemia and Regeneration” to be held in Leipzig on October 24-25th 2008 at the Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology. The organization committee aimed to present current projects in bioinformatics to foster networking and scientific exchange of know-how and novel approaches in this dynamically evolving segment of the Life Science Industry.
Bioinformatics in universities, research institutions and businesses plays an ever more important role, particularly in the field of red biotechnology in the German centers of Life Science research at Leipzig, Jena, Halle, Magdeburg and Dresden. By developing tailor-made solutions for the Life Science community, which provides solutions to problems of biotechnology utilizing computer-assisted methods, bioinformatics has become an indispensable part of drug development, protein design and analytics.
